About the item

This table was created by Paul Kingma (The Hague 1913-2003), a Dutch artist and sculptor responsible for the creation of many original brutalist and expressionistic mosaic tables in a combination of materials such as concrete, ceramic, brass, metal and stone.

He created a series of coffee tables for Fedam Netherlands during the 70s and 80s with a strong abstract pattern made by slatting coloured ceramic stone and connecting them with an epoxy and including brass ornaments as well.

This specific example even has an old coin as a decorative object in the mosaic structure included.

Each table is handmade by Paul Kingma and this specific example still has the original signature reading “P. Kingma ’89” in one of the brass ornaments.

The outer edge of the top is made out of black concrete and the top rests on a black wooden frame.

About its condition

The table is in good vintage condition. The table has some small wear on the concrete edges, some superficial scratches on the top and some general wear on the foot.
