About the item

A very rare design from Pierre Mazairac for Pastoe.

The SM0301 is certainly a masterpiece in modernistic design. Designed by Pierre Mazairac, a Dutch designer from Utrecht, in the 70s.

On the verge of minimalism and modernism.

The use of bend wood for the seat and backrest in combination with the anodized aluminum creates an interesting effect. Certainly the profound aluminium frame with its buttons on the backside adds something industrial to its design. As well, the torx screws on the frontside have something raw to them as well.

Certainly a rarity to find, in contrast to the more well known designs from Cees Braakman.

About its condition

The chairs are all in solid condition without any structural damage. The aluminium has some slight traces of use. The wood has some visible patina and the black lacquer/varnish has come off a bit.
