Scissor lounge chairs by Paul Tuttle and Antonio Citterio for Flexform 1980s, set of 2
There is a third chair available as well in good color, with more patina on the leather and a good condition frame.
About the item
Post-modern Scissor chair in chromed steel for Flexform Italia, widely known as being designed by Paul Tuttle, in conjunction with Antonio Citterio.
The frame consists of one piece of solid chromed steel. The leather patch is fixed to the frame on 6 points by chrome cylinder shaped capsules.
The leather patches consist of double layer leather, with beautiful stitching.
The design has similarities with modern Danish design from Jørgen Kastholm and Poul Kjaerholm however with its own twist.
Certainly a design that will become more appreciated over time.
About its condition
Both chairs are in very good condition, both the chrome and the leather. Even on the sensitive spots (near the cilinders) the leather has no major tears. The leather has some superficial patina. One of the chrome frames has been completely re-chromed.
