About the item
Very sleek modernist coffee table by Pierre Guariche for Disderot (pre Airborne era).
Pierre Guariche (1926-1995) is one of the more profound and well-known French modernist designers and his designs are well known in the design world.
The table consists of a H shaped iron frame, painted black. The glass top is pierced and held in place by 4 brass flat round finials; the top is then cantilevered over the iron frame.
The overall result is a minimalistic design with strong modernistic look.
The table came from the first owner, who’s been using the table since it was purchased new in during the 50s.
About its condition
The table top has some scratches, among which 2 deeper ones, but no chips. The frame is in excellent condition.
