L01E elm and bouclé daybed by Pierre Chapo for Chapo S.A.
About the item
Pierre Chapo’s L01 E daybed, a design that was commissioned in 1959 by Samuel Beckett in reference to his play entitled Attendant Godot. Bed of great elegance is a pure design approaching that of Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé.
The daybed is made from French elm, with the characteristic box joints on the corners. They are both essential technical as well as aesthetic features of this object. The L01 daybed by is characterized by sober design and simple lines yet its stance has a timeless effect.
This item has been build in the Chapo atelier in the South of France, a tradition that is continued on by the son of Pierre and his grandson and features all the original details of the 60s design and matching materials and craftsmanship. In short; an authentic Chapo product but new.
This daybed will be delivered including mattress and will be upholstered in bouclé seablue fabric with matching roll pillow.
