FK6725 Bird armchair by Jorgen Kastholm & Preben Fabricius for Alfred Kill International 1960s

SOLD TO LEUVEN, BELGIUM

About the item

Legendary Danish modernist design by Jørgen Kastholm  & Preben Fabricius; the Bird chair concerns the high-back FK6725 version of their iconic Tulip 6727 armchair designed in 1964.

This specific chair likely concerns an early version from the 60s with a short beam. The short beam is easily recognizable as having a short length connecting beam between the swivel mechanism and the bolt plate attached to the actual seat. The short beam was only produced by Alfred Kill International until the 80s, and not by Walter Knoll in the later production versions. The foot is equipped with 3 sliding wheels so that it can be used as a desk chair.

The chair features a brushed steel foot and black leather upholstery.

About its condition

The chair is in good condition, however with some signs of usage on the backside of the leather. The leather sleeve has been newly upholstered in black leather.
